2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Review

Mitsubishi has a problem with the current formation. Unless you're looking for Lancer, your choice is limited to middle-size Galant sedan and Endeavor and Outlander crossover. Now, is contemplating seppuku Galant and Endeavor has not been completely redesigned since it first went on sale back in 2003. The Outlander, however, has something positive to offer. It can accommodate up to seven passengers (in emergencies), has been named Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Top Safety Pick, and tops out at 28 miles per gallon on the highway.

Latest industry trends to be found in the New York auto show is the incredible shrinking crossovers, exemplified by this Juke Nissan and Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. Both vehicles are making their debut in North America, has a premiere at the Geneva show last month. (The Mitsubishi ASX known as RVR and elsewhere on the planet.)

Mitsubishi know because just two competitive vehicles to choose from is not enough to compete in the industry are eager to fill every niche, and the company appeared to focus on developing two single bright spot in his lineup. Lancer has spawned many variants, the latter being the Lancer Sportback, fun-to-push trains that do not step on the top-trim Lancer Evolution. The Outlander, meanwhile, recently gave a name to a smaller 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, a five-passenger crossover are looking to make a mark in the crowded segment today.

Of the two, the Juke is a strange but funny looking one, while the Sport Outlander look bigger. We also have to say it was more handsome than the larger Outlander Mitsubishi already in the lineup. With an overall length of 169.1 inches, it's just above the foot shorter than big brother, even though the same wheelbases of 105.1 inches.

The Mitsu is supported by the Galant-based running gear, with engine, 148-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder. Now, that might sound a little weak in the jacked-up station wagon small, but Mitsubishi has tried to make this Sport Outlander light as possible. A base model with manual transmission weighs in at an estimated 3050 pounds, thanks to features like front fenders, plastic recycling and extensive use of high strength steel. Losing weight will be an important advance as a balance of performance cars to government fuel efficiency requirements. Mitsubishi Outlander Sport claims that the EPA numbers will get 31 mpg on the highway.

As usual Outlander, Sport is the front-wheel drive, with the all-wheel-drive is optional. This is a simple on-demand arrangement, transferring torque to the rear wheels when slip occurs at the front. The base ES model has a manual five-speed, a continuously variable transmission with paddle shifters is optional at this level trims and standard on uplevel SE.

Unlike the Outlander, which has a plastic interior that would not look out of place on Little Tikes Cozy Coupe, Sport has a soft-touch materials in the doors and instrument panel, surprising given the expected starting price $ 19,000. Uplevel SE models have features such as automatic climate control, 18-inch alloy wheels, rain-sensing windshield wipers, heated front seats, and keyless entry system as standard. Options at this level monster trim including sunroof, navigation system with seven-inch screen, and 710-watt Rockford Fosgate audio system kicked. Sport Outlander will be sold in late 2010 as a model of 2011.

The Outlander Sport does have a few tricks up its sleeve besides being able to fake a gear shift. It handles surprisingly well for what's essentially a high-riding, tall-roof wagon. The brakes are quite responsive once you push past the first inch of light pedal travel, but over bumps, the tight Lancer-like suspension reveals some flaws in the Noise Vibration and Harshness department. There was some chatter inside the cabin of our test vehicle and, when rolled down a bit, the windows produced a slight rattle. We could chalk up the window rattle to press-car jitters, but the cabin chatter is probably there to stay.

Those problems aren't enough, however, to make us forget the sporty handling, accommodating interior and competitive pricing of the 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport SE AWC. Will it become Mitsubishi's third bright spot behind the Lancer and Outlander? The company is crowing that 1,290 units of the Outlander Sport were sold last month. That's peanuts compared to the Honda CR-V, which sold over 19,000 units, but does represent nearly a fifth of the entire brand's sales. That's remarkable for a model only a few months old, and tells us that Mitsubishi is giving buyers exactly what they want.

2011 MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE SPORTS CAR

MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE

If we are looking for a sporty looking car but don't need an insane amount of speed or a super stiff car then the 2011 Mitsubishi Eclipse is a vehicle to explore. Even though it looks like a sports car, it was tuned to function as an everyday driver. It has a large appeal to the baby boomer crowd who may want a sporty looking car without sacrificing a smooth and comfortable car.
True sports cars may be fun to drive once in a while but not necessarily practical in everyday life. Another plus is that the Eclipse is rather reasonably priced at around $20k. There are two body styles available; coupe and the convertible (the Eclipse Spyder). Three trim levels are available; GS, GS Sport and GT. This sports car isn't meant for the hardcore racer with a need for speed but someone who prefers a comfortable ride with a sporty appearance.

Step inside the cabin and we'll find yourself in a well-appointed interior with sweet chrome accents for a modern look. The instruments are backlit by blue lighting and there is enough room to seat four individuals. Opt for the GT model and we get temperature adjustable seats, high intensity projector headlamps and 18" wheels. Cargo space for the coupe stands at 15.7 cubic feet while the Spyder offers 5.7 cubic feet. There is a four cylinder and a six cylinder engine available; a 2.4 Liter V4 with 162 HP and 162 lb feet of torque and a 3.8 Liter V6 with 265 hp at 262 lb feet of torque. Mileage stands at 20 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the freeway. This auto handles curves well and it stands out for its smooth drive.
Mitsubishi engineers have included a large number of safety precautions including seatbelts which tighten up during an accident and a comprehensive air bag system with side curtain bags. The chassis has been strengthened in critical areas and functions to absorb crash energy in case of an accident. The Latch system is also in place which makes it easier to attach child seats. The 2011 Eclipse would make a great vehicle for anyone who favors the look of a sharp athletic sports car but who doesn't need to win every street race. This auto is for the individual who prefers comfort over a sporty ride. The 2011 model is competitively priced to sell around $20k range.

New Mitsubishi Lancer 2011 Specs and Review

When thinking of the Mitsubishi Lancer, most car enthusiasts envision a charging Evolution X muscled through a remote mountain pass. While the pig Evo spotlight - and imagination car nuts - that is, less aggressive humble Lancer that serves as the foundation and rules halo car annual three-diamond's sales sheet. In 2010, the base Lancer contributed 46% of total U.S. sales of Mitsubishi, Evo only 6%.

For all the significance of the sale, 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer ES we recently to round do not feel like a car that pride, joy, or the breadwinner for several reasons, especially in the ES trim. True, mugs shark-face tension has gained much criticism good and bad since 2007 debut of the Tokyo Motor Show, but has not gone under the knife since. (C-segment competitor named the Civic, Corolla, and Mazda3 all been face-lifted in some capacity since then.) Bits like four-wheel plastic-covered steel 16-inch wrapped in 205/60-16 Dunlop all-season rubber don 't helped cause the exterior looks very small and far below the low-slung body pieces. This view is similar to weight lifting exercise Hugo Boss dress shoes, shoes just do not match.

For all the innocent nature, however, Lancer ES has several important external attributes. Nose, with color-matching inserts and chrome grille surround, not as a "hard" as an example louvered at Evo. Plus, the lack of Gulfstream G6 rear wing makes ES conspicuous to law enforcement. Painted door handles and side mirrors from ES DE differentiate low and an improvement of the standard black pieces.

Basic Warranty: The basic warranty covers everything except items that are subject to wear and tear or replacement in the ordinary course of vehicle ownership, such as oil and air filters, wiper blades and brake pads. Tires and batteries are often excluded, but usually have their own warranty provided by the manufacturers of those items. Drive Train Warranty: In some cases the drive train warranty continues after the basic warranty has expired. This part of the warranty covers most of the parts that make the vehicle move, including the engine, transmission, drive axles and driveshaft. Like the basic warranty, consumable parts such as hoses and belts are not covered. However, most of the internal parts of the engine, such as the pistons and bearings, which are also subject to wear and tear, are covered by the drive train warranty.

Roadside Assistance: Many manufacturers provide a service that will rescue you if your car leaves you stranded, even if it's your fault. Lock yourself our of your car? Run out of gas? Got a flat tire? A call to the manufacturer's toll-free number will result in somebody showing up who can help you out. There is a huge variance in these programs so check ahead of time to see what is covered and what you will have to pay for.

Rust or Corrosion Warranty: Rust or Corrosion Warranty: This warranty covers the vehicle's sheet metal, and protects you from rust and corrosion that are severe enough to cause a hole - surface rust is not covered. However, if you keep your car washed and waxed rust shouldn't be a problem.

New Mitsubishi Shogun Specification

Though the new Shogun does a fair impression of a metrosexual, road-biased modern soft-roader, that atmospheric pressure readout in the centre console stands out like a crap-encrusted welly poking out the bottom of a smart suit. Dressed up in new clothes it may be - the facelifted Shogun gets a new front end that manages to be bluffer yet sharper at the same time - but this is still a river-wading 4x4 from the muddy old school. And better for it.

There is added grrr and green in the engine department. The 3.2-litre four-cylinder diesel has been revised, with power up to 197bhp, torque rising to 325lb ft and CO2 emissions dropping from 280g/km to a passable 224g/km. Consumption is improved by 5mpg. Of big SUVs, only the BMW X5 is cleaner.

With vital statistics like that, you'd be forgiven for lumping the new Shogun in with the modern breed of puddle-dodging faux-by-fours... until, that is, you start it up. At this moment, any delusions of a silky BMW-spec diesel disappear into the throaty rumble of the engine.

It'll haul the Shogun at a passable lick - 11 seconds to 62mph - but it won't do it with much enthusiasm. It will, however, enthusiastically pull large things out of bogs. TopGear has never been much concerned with towing capacity, but we are delighted to discover that the Shogun will haul a mighty 3,500kg. What is 3,500kg in hauling terms?

Well, it's plenty enough to drag a rogue cow from a peaty bog. Or a World War One tank come to that. The more expensive Toyota Land Cruiser will tow a pitiful 2,800kg. We imagine towing capacity to be important currency in the sort of grizzled, flinty pubs where Shogun and Landcruiser drivers drink.

As are things like front and rear overhangs, and maximum climb angles, and low-ratio gearboxes - stuff the Shogun does better than almost anything out there. Even this seven-seat version will tackle a 48° incline without breaking sweat. That's more or less upside-down.

The X5 or XC90 may defeat it over tarmac, the Discovery may offer a better balance of on- and off-road ability, but if your daily commute includes mamba-infested swamp and a plunging ravine with a dozen logs in tow, the Shogun is what you need. And those greener engine revisions mean you'll get deeper into the inky wilderness before reaching for the jerry can.

Mitsubishi Galant Evolution

In 2009 a slightly used Mitsubishi Galant. Since then, almost every time I spy another car like mine, this is an older model. Something about the original version of the series when my car just for me, is ugly.

If you know much about cars, you know that every four or six, if the car is selling quite well, manufacturers release "all new" series of the same name. Sometimes, just like the old version in several ways, and usually remains in the same size class. Other times, changes in car size, appearance, and can even change from a compact to mid size. But there are other ways to change the car, without the "all new." Usually, in the age of any series, the car will get a "refresh" or "face-lift." This usually involves changing the headlights, taillights, bumpers, and even sometimes fenders, trunks and hoods. Although basically the same car, this new addition can drastically change the look of the car.

This is the case with the Mitsubishi Galant. In the year 2003 - the year 2004 as a model - an all new Galant was introduced, to move from compact to mid-size car. At that time, Mitsubishi tried to go for the brand family ""-see, placing schnoz in the middle of the lattice. I do not think I'm alone in thinking it is a design error.

This car looks best in red, so this is a glamorous shot of the prettiest, I could find. In other colors, it looks ugly and rather boring. Someone at Mitsubishi would think so, because in the year 2007, they kept the same car, but give it the face lift. Missing is the nose, but the remnants remain. hood still has a stylish line that points to where the nose should be, and new replacement grille still have a bulge.

Not too much improvement, but definitely better. Someone must have thought they did not really exist, but there must have enough life left in the Galant for them to try again. In the year 2009, they changed the hood, grille, and bumpers. All schnoz remains missing, though - oddly enough - not going to change the headlights.

While I really love my car, and thought it looked pretty great (even better now, with tinted windows), I still think Mitsubishi missed a golden opportunity here. And now that the car has gone through seven model years, there will of course not a chance. Mitsubishi Galant has stopped production, ending with the year 2010. This is not surprising either. It landed on the list "" the worst seller in recent years, perhaps because there is virtually no promotion. When was the last time you saw an ad Galant?

But what is not selling Mitsubishi Outlanders. And the Lancers. Sporty Lancer Evolution is a runaway hit. It does not hurt that they come with a look of "new family" for their other car, which features an aggressive grille that somewhat resembles an old-school Cylon, Battlestar Galactica from the original. I can not help thinking, what would I Galant look like if they get a ballsy, and grafted a new look at the last round Galants? Well, I'm a graphic artist, so I thought I would find out. Now, do not be too critical. Try to prove what?

Mitsubishi Grandis Specification

The Mitsubishi Grandis is a car that’s all too readily overlooked just because it’s not one of the big names in family transport. It looks great, drives far better than it should and has a whopping and genuinely clever interior.

There are two engines to choose from, neither of which is a sure fire winner. Both petrol and diesel take around 11 seconds to see off 60mph, but the slightly noisy diesel at least can provide dramatically superior fuel economy.

In the inherently uncool world of the large MPV the Grandis at least looks the part. And the fact that it's half-decent to drive gives it another edge over the usual mumsy fair out there. Bold, swoopy interior design can't quite hide the fact that some of the plastics are a bit cheap. The diesel engine is sourced from Volkswagen though, so that should be very strong.

This is what it all boils down to with MPVs, and the Grandis isn't to be found wanting. A proper seven-seat configuration that folds and concertinas and all sorts. It's not the biggest or easiest to use, but it's right up there. If you take the Renault Grand Scenic as the mid-size MPV benchmark then the Grandis fairs well on initial purchase price. It might not hold its value like some of the more desirable cars in this segment though, so you could lose out in the long run.

Spesifikasi New Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder 2010

The Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder is a convertible version of the Eclipse coupe. In most regards, the Spyder provides a similar driving and ownership experience to the coupe, which means sleek styling, four-passenger seating, a powerful available V6 and a reasonable amount of comfort.

With the Spyder in the affordable convertible segment, Mitsubishi has taken a balanced approach. With nimble and sporty two-seat roadsters on one end of the spectrum and four-seat family-sedan-based convertibles on the other, the Eclipse sits comfortably in the middle. Historically, the Spyder's closest competitors have been convertible pony cars such as the Chevy Camaro and Ford Mustang.

Power on the Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder is a 162-horsepower, 2.4-liter four-cylinder, paired with four-speed automatic, or an optional 265-horsepower, 3.8-liter V-6 with five-speed shiftable automatic transmission. That far exceeds the power rating of six-cylinder offerings from Ford Mustang and Lexus IS 250. The Eclipse Spyder achieve 16-19 mpg in town and 24-26 on the highway. Delicious powertrain is covered by 10 years, 100,000 miles warranty, which far exceeds what is offered for the Ford Mustang and Nissan 370Z.

Interior room is highlighted by 27.8 inches rear legroom, which really undermine the Nissan 370Z convertible (which has no rear seat) and the Lexus IS 250 convertible. A power retractable convertible top with glass rear window opens to display the cloth seats, remote power door locks, air conditioning, leather wrapped steering wheel, a rockin 'Rockford Fosgate sound system with 650 watts of power and Sirius Satellite Radio. A spy camera is also standard equipment on base models. GT model, equipped with V-6 engines, including leather seats.

anti-lock brakes with traction and stability control systems, help the driver avoid any possible accidents. Dual front and side airbags front occupants in the front crash cushions and sturdy chassis to handle residual protection. No crash test ratings are available for both Eclipse coupe or convertible trim for the year 2009 or 2010 model.

Slide in, buckle your seatbelt, turned the key and hold - you'll have fun, fun, fun 'til your daddy takes Eclipse to go. The 2010 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder is ready for your trip to the beach or play your favorite mountain road.

The original Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder was available from 1996-'99 and corresponded to the second-generation coupe. The GS model had an unremarkable 141-hp four-cylinder engine, but the turbocharged GS-T was capable of 205 hp -- an impressive number in its day. A five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic were offered. The Spyder's top was a particularly nice one, with excellent insulation, one-touch power operation and a heated, but very small, glass rear window. Rearward vision was compromised severely when the top was up, but the rear seat was retained and the car's structural integrity was impressive.

Consumers interested in these earlier Eclipse Spyder models should be aware that reliability was not their strong suit. Accordingly, it is particularly important to make sure that the car has been well-maintained.
