How to choose perfect fitting clothing for women on a low budget

Having great looking clothes does not necessarily mean having to spend your month’s salary in order to create your personal wardrobe. The important factor to take into account is that it is not the quantity that counts, but the quality of the clothing and the variations you purchase.

http://www.gap.com/Asset_Archive/GPWeb/Assets/Product/590/590987/big/gp590987-03vliv01.jpg

Better quality clothing does not mean that it will be more expensive, try to choose fabrics that are superior, for they will hang better to flatter your figure and last longer. The ideal alternative is a well-fitting skirt in a high quality fabric such as lightweight wool, which you may use throughout several seasons; avoid filling your wardrobe with badly fitting, multicolored skirts. A dark color such as black, navy or dark gray is a perfect choice, for you may wear it with different jackets every time as well as other accessories; this will change the overall look completely.

So try build up your wardrobe on a lower budget selecting a few dark skirts and pants as well as a few jackets and tops making sure the fabric is of very good quality, in order to fit better and last longer. Choose amongst fabrics such as linen, wool gabardine or wool crepe, these always fit better, and look for alternatives such as tighter fitting clothing or looser clothing for comfort; also look for belt loops that can change the appearance of the skirt or pants.

To further enhance women’s clothing, accessories are also important, these will embellish a particular item and can change the form of the clothing completely. You may look for inspiration in fashion magazines or at fashion shows, where you can get great ideas to coordinate different accessories to your clothing. Belts are very good accessory alternatives, you should opt for a leather belt with a distinctive buckle. Silk scarves can also remarkably change the look of women’s clothing, when worn over the shoulder or over one shoulder fastened with a brooch.

Make sure you use sound judgment when shopping, this will considerably help with a low budget; choose colors that suit you for the color scheme is one of the most important factors in women’s clothing. Look out for the contrast the colors have with your complexion and figure and match the skirts, pants and jackets with the blouses or tops. Try varying the colors and abandon those neutral colors that you feel may be safer to wear; try wearing cobalt or peacock blue with a brown suit, or deep purple with a moss green colored suit; be a little more daring!

Once you have chosen the fit and styles, shop around during sales at the shops that sell better quality women’s clothing that suit your tastes; it is a waste of time searching through all the shops, choose your favorite clothing shop and visit every few weeks or so, until you find the right outfit and price to go with it.
Consignment shops are also a good solution for designer clothes at budget prices, make a list of the clothing you need and have it handy, this will avoid all unnecessary expense on items you do not really need.

Meet Samsung's iPod killer, the touchscreen P3

The last of the Samsung press conference: their P3 touchscreen MP3 player.

The P3, a widescreen portable multimedia player, has an “EmoTure” interface with true haptic feedback. It’s a CES Innovations 2009 Design and Engineering Award honoree. The 8GB player boasts a 3-inch WQVGA TFT-LCD touch screen for photos and video at 16:9 aspect ratio without letterboxing.

Samsung P3

As for the “EmoTure” touch interface with haptic feedback. the company says the following: “With every command gesture, from swiping a finger across the screen, to switching audio tracks, to holding down a digital button for fast-forwarding video, the P3 reacts with a variety of physical sensations for a more intimate user experience versus other media players.” It’s also got a Music Hot Touch Key, located just below the touch screen, as a shortcut to music features and selections.

As for the audio, the P3 has Samsung’s updated DNSe 3.0 sound enhancement tech, but we’ll see when we hear it.

The unit is just 0.39 inches thin, and can be paired with a Bluetooth-enabled phone, allowing users to use the built-in microphone to answer calls directly through the player.

It’s got a reinforced die-cast metal casing in either matte black or matte silver. Why? “The player’s housing is built to combat the fingerprints and scratching, which typically mar today’s portable electronic devices.” Sorry, iPod touch.

sources : zdnet.com

The P3 will be available in the first half of 2009 in 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and 32 GB storage capacities. Note about being an iPod touch-killer: I didn’t see anything about Wi-Fi in there!

This week we got a chance to catch up with Atsushi Yamaguchi, the creator of the Buzz House Design range. A Mac fan with a love for sleek electronic design, the Buzz House Design creator is all about providing practical and fashionable accessories for his brand of choice.

buzz house case

Sleek design protection for your geek bits.

Deanne: What is Buzz House Design all about?

Buzz House Design: I create cases for iPhone , iPod touch , MacBook and Vaio. They are all made in Japan. They are handmade and high quality, made by professional crafters.

The range focuses strongly on two elements, practicality and fashion. Each piece is created as a carry case for the electronics and also as a fashion accessory.

Fashion and Function: carry, keep and cover.

Deanne: Are you a Mac purist?

Buzz House Design: Yes, I love Apple because they pursue sleek design and that is captivating. I don’t feel that the PC has this same quality. Apple is just not a company making electronics, it is a fashion and design creator.

Nowadays, everyone has an iPhone, mobile phone or laptop. They are as common as bags or wallets. There should be more gadgets that are focused on design.

Deanne: Do you own other brand electronics?

Buzz House Design: NO.

Deanne: Your Mac Book felt cases and iPhone felt cases are popular items on TokyoMade. What would you say your number one item is?

Buzz House Design: I have to say that the best selling item is the iPhone Case but the leather iPhone cases are getting popular too. Since the MacBookAir case went on sale it’s been extremely popular and recently VAIO cases are selling well, too.

iPhone Fashion – hand made in Japan.

Deanne: You are such an iPod fan that you actually run iPod parties here in Tokyo. Can you explain what an iPod party is exactly?

Buzz House Design: I organize a party called noWax which I don’t attend as Buzz House Design, I just go to the party with my friends.

I think many people who own an iPod have an obsession with music and culture. Often they would like to share their music as if they were the DJ. This is the concept of noWax events.

People who come to the party plug in their iPods and get to share the tracks they are listening to. It is a fun night and a great networking event. It is not just about the music, it is about interacting.

noWax is an irregular event, but please check it out here and stop in some time.

switch easy capsule rebel case for iphone 3GS

Let’s get down to business and chat about the SwitchEasy Capsule Rebel Case for iPhone 3G and 3GS, we will let you know about our first impressions, features, what you get and of course what we think about this case.

We was sent this product from mobilefun.co.uk and when it arrived at the door we was really intrigued to see what is so good about the SwitchEasy Capsule Rebel Case and if it is any better than any similar case on the market, we have had a few cases sent to us and must say pretty impressed about the packaging and its contents.

hands-on-review-switcheasy-capsule-rebel-case-for-iphone-3gs-3g-pic-9

First Impressions:
When we recieve products we always take pictures which you can see below, first impressions to tell you the truth was not that bad really and in that we mean it is not something you would get to excited about and not something you would hate either, it is a balance of “Yeah it’s ok”. It does look a little bulky and it does remind me a little of an Alienware PC Case design, our impressions do get a whole lot better which will explain below.

What is the SwitchEasy Capsule Rebel Case for iPhone 3GS/3G all about?
Well this case has a very robust design which means you will get total protection (We will explain how it protects in a bit), there is a feature called ‘Shock Jock’ which means the Capsule Rebel case has new materials and radical design methods to protect your iPhone, this feature has the UltraFrame hard protection system which will protect the most important parts of the iPhone, the hard shell exo-skeleton frame is made with Lexan polycarbonate which helps against vigorous impact, another features goes by the name of ‘ADSP (Adaptive Dynamic Soft Polymer)’ which protects the underneath of the iPhone, ADSP gives you hip hugging protection. This case will not discolour even in everyday use, now let’s talk about UltraHybrid.

What is UltraHybrid?
UltraHybrid is a way and only way to protect your iPhone which will create minimal contact whilst installing your case, as said above the ADSP allows a snug fit. There are obviously many competitors out there but all we know is that this case covers all impact points thanks to the polycarbonate shield.

The Main SwitchEasy Capsule Rebel Case Features and what you get: 2 x anti-static screen guards, One universal dock adapter, One microfiber wipe, One Squeegee for your screen guard application, One video dock stand, and One power jack connector protector.

Phonesreview.co.uk Overall Verdict:
The first impressions looks of the SwitchEasy Capsule Rebel Case for iPhone is in our eyes pretty bulky and not love at first sight, but must admit it grows on you. On a personal note I was up a ladder cleaning out the guttering on my house and my iPhone was ringing so I got a good grip with one hand to steady myself and answered the phone with the other, once I finished the call I put the iPhone on the roof and carried on working; the phone rang again and vibrated and this vibration made the iPhone slip of the roof to about 30-foot below on the floor, I was so sure to be picking up the handset to see it broken “OH NO” it survived so happy with the product. I would definitely recommend this iPhone case whole-heartedly. The case covers all the protective areas like the buttons etc but without restricting the use of these buttons.

Where can I buy it from and how much is this case?
You can purchase the SwitchEasy Capsule Rebel Case from mobilefun.co.uk for only £24.95 which is definitely worth every penny. Get your case now you will not be disappointed, check out the photos below.

Concept Car Honda EV-N

Honda EV-N Concept Electric Car

Honda is set to introduce its latest concept car on the Tokyo Motor Show come October. The EV-N battery-powered car comes with a retro style similar to European cars during the 1960s and features swappable seat fabrics, a solar panel on the roof, and an integrated communications system. Its passenger door even contains Honda's UX-3 gyroscopic unicycle (think of it as a seated Segway), which not only adds about 22 pounds in the process, but also adds up coolness points... for us, at least.

Your “weight” for an internet-connected scale is over! Get it?

balanceVues

The “WiFi Body Scale” from French company Withings records your weight and BMI and automatically uploads it to a secure website, which would be a lot easier to make fun of if it weren’t for Wii Fit, which does that stuff but doesn’t upload it anywhere.

People made fun of Wii Fit at first and then it went on to become the most popular Wii game in the history of the universe, so it stands to reason that this scale may become the most popular scale in the history of scales. Or it may not. You never can tell.

And it wouldn’t be a serious product if there wasn’t also an iPhone app for keeping track of your progress as well, right? Well, there is. And get this: up to eight different people can keep track of their weight on the same scale. The scale even knows who’s who right when they step on the scale. Maybe it knows each person by the amount of meat in their feet. Science!

The scale costs $159 and is available at Withings.com (and apparently Amazon, although it’s not in stock there at the moment). Yes, that’s a lot for a scale but even at $159 it offers far more value than the $55 Yay! Scale from earlier this week.

Jessica Alba

Style icon Jessica Alba was spotted in New York last week carrying a black fringe clutch by Gerard Darel. Jessica is a big fan of the Parisian fashion house and is often seen sporting clothing and accessories from the designer. This trendy two-tiered fringe bag is the perfect accent to her sophisticated black ensemble.

Dries Van Noten oversized bangles necklace

There are these days where I do my research and I do some window shopping along the way and I manage to find something which cost say $1000 but I will shake my head, have a little rant over it and make sure I keep that money in my wallet because it absolutely isn’t worth it. Well, it’s not, not worth it but it’s just not worth it…today. Because I have my tired tight-ass days just as we all do. This has inspired me to do a little “Make it” component because I find that sometimes it is easier to be crafty than it is to splash out the cash. Here is how you can channel the runway accessory look thanks to Dries Van Noten neckpieces.

Oversized bangle necklace by Dries Van Noten

PS; I am actually yet to make this but I am pretty sure that I’m not too far off from the actual designer concept so don’t mind me if there is tweaking to be done. I will post up pictures of my own Dries Van Noten inspired piece when I do have the time to do it.

What do you need?

- Black velvet ribbon (Approx 30cm)

- Various bangles and rings of all shapes, colours and sizes. (It looks best when you stick to one theme)

- Vintage rings

- Big beads and buttons

What to do?

- Knot the top of one end of the ribbon leaving about an 8cm gap from the edge of the ribbon to the centre area.

- Tie the first ring to the knot so that the rings don’t fall off the string.

- Thread through some vintage rings of all shapes, colours and sizes to the end of the knot.

- Finish that section by tying another ring in a knot so that you can start the other section.

- Put your bangles through the string in a fancy order to best achieve the desired result.

- Knot the edge to finish off leaving extra string space at the end of the neckpiece to tie on.

- Tie back edges together to complete.

And there you have rags to runway almost instantly! If you do decide to make one, please, please email me some pictures of your fabulous piece so I can check out how it went!

go crazy fashion

Ohhhh I did something totally insane and spent money on a pair of boots that look like this:

Yes. They will be here tomorrow. Wonderful Guess "Maeve" boots. Kind of gothic but I can't wait to wear it with my chiffon dress with tights and leg warmers, a black blazer, and some crazy coloured scarf.

So now for some outfits that I would gladly wear. Because we all have Lacroix, Moschino and Schouler lying around in our closets.

SO EXCITED. SO IN LOVE.

But not nearly as excited or as in love with the fact that Barack Obama is now our President!!
