The second generation Mazda 6



The second generation Mazda was unveiled at the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show. The improved version, a larger one has been specially designed for the US market for 2009 model. The idea of a larger car for the American market has been adopted by Mazda from

Honda. This is to substantiate the brand reputation of a Mazda car in comparison to the European market. It has the roofline of a coupe and looks like sporting type. the engine is a new 2.5 liter 4- cylinder whereas the US version is 3.7 liter V6 like the Mazda CX-9.

The Atenza is done on the Ford CD3 platform and offers three bodies.4-door saloon sedan, 5-door hatchback and a wagon. The car does not have increased weight even the body has been made larger. This feature has helped to maintain the general driving skill.

Variations in engine capacity are 1.8 L, 2.0 L, 2.5 L, - MZR 14 and 3.7 L for MZI V6 and 2.0 L & 2.2 L in MZR-CD.

Transmissions include 5-speed automatic, 6-speed automatic for US versions and 5-speed manual & 6-speed manual.
